Our Teachers

More than drawing

Skills that last beyond the art studio

Every piece a student makes is a design problem to solve. The habits they build here, like planning, testing ideas and taking feedback, help in school, in college applications and in any career.

Design thinking

A strong painting is a series of decisions about composition, light and story. Students learn to plan, sketch options and choose the best one, the same process used in architecture, engineering, medicine and product design.

Problem solving

When a piece isn't working, students learn to figure out why and try another approach. Teachers coach them through it instead of fixing it for them.

A trained eye

Students learn to look closely, judge their own work honestly and explain their choices. That confidence carries into every subject.

Our alumni have gone on to study art, architecture, physics and more at Harvard, Yale, RISD, MIT, Stanford and Cornell.

How the tryout works

Classes Friday to Sunday, in studio and online

See what your child can make

Classes are small, so every student gets real attention from a teacher. A tryout is the easiest way to find out if we're a good fit.
